Laura Schattschneider practices in the litigation, federal-state programs, and insurance coverage groups.

Representative Matters

  • Represents state clients at the trial and appellate level in federal court and in agency proceedings before the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Advises state clients regarding federal Medicaid requirements, with special expertise in federal reimbursement of mental health services.
  • Advises state clients regarding Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) work participation requirements.
  • Assists state clients with the preparation of applications for Medicaid demonstration projects and waivers.
  • Representation of a hospital system in state antitrust litigation.
  • Representation of a policyholder in environmental insurance coverage litigation.

  • Representation of a class of federal prisoners in civil rights litigation seeking to improve prison medical conditions.
