James Goold is resident in our Washington office.  His practice spans a diversified range of domestic and international litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters, including US and international product liability litigation and related counseling and regulatory/legislative projects; litigation and related proceedings for European governments on matters involving energy policy, shareholder and investment protection, admiralty and cultural preservation disputes and insurance coverage arbitrations.

  • Representation of shareholders and investors in expropriation and related claims against the Russian Federation.

  • Representation of principal shareholders of Wall Street firm in claims arising from leveraged buy out.

  • Representation of Kingdom of Spain in litigation to apply sovereign immunity, act of state, and other defenses against liability to U.S. private interests for government acts.
