Ian Redfearn is an associate in the dispute resolution group of the London office.

Mr Redfearn’s practice encompasses a wide range of contentious and quasi-contentious matters, including litigation before the English courts, arbitral proceedings and internal corporate investigations.

Representative Matters

  • Representing a European oil refinery business in an ad hoc arbitration against various UK underwriters arising out of property damage and business interruption claims exceeding $150 million.
  • Representing a Bermudan company in a LCIA arbitration against a Russian investment firm arising out of investment brokerage arrangements.
  • Assisting with a multi-jurisdictional internal FCPA investigation for a global investment company.
  • Representing a pharmaceutical company in an ICC arbitration arising out of the termination of a distribution agreement in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Representing an animal health company in its defence of substantial claims arising out of the 2007 outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom.
  • Representing policyholders in several insurance coverage arbitrations.
  • Representing policyholder creditors in opposing a solvent scheme of arrangement before the Scottish courts.
  • Assisting a multinational energy company with internal corporate investigations concerning its operations in Central Asia and South America.

  • Secondment to the in-house legal department of a multinational pharmaceutical company.
