Ingrid Rechtin advises clients on a range of corporate issues.  Her experience includes complex patent monetization transactions, numerous public and private mergers and acquisitions, venture and private equity financings and general corporate matters. She represents companies, including start-ups and global corporations, in the life sciences, technology and clean tech sectors.  Before joining the San Francisco office, she was resident in the firm’s New York office.

Representative Matters

  • Microsoft in various strategic transactions, including:
    • its $1.1 billion acquisition of 800 patents from AOL, and its $550 million sale to Facebook of the right to acquire a portion of the AOL portfolio
    • its patent monetization transaction with Nokia and Core Wireless involving 2000+ wireless patents; and
    • its $8.5 billion acquisition of Skype.
  • Green Lake Capital (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Walsin Lihwa) in the development and financing of multiple pooled project finance transactions covering distributed solar facilities located at municipal sites throughout the United States.
  • Wells Fargo Bank in its proprietary capital markets and taxable and tax-exempt fixed income investment activities.
  • Borrego Solar Systems, Inc., a leading integrator for commercial, residential and public sector turnkey, grid-connected solar systems, in a $14 million minority equity financing from an undisclosed publicly-traded strategic investor.
