Ira Palgon is a partner in the firm's Finance and Structured Finance practice groups. His practice encompasses a full range of structured financing transactions, with a primary focus on the representation of banks, investment banks and institutional and private investors in a wide variety of complex asset based and non-asset-based transactions in the banking, film, shipping, energy and renewable energy industries. Mr. Palgon also has extensive experience in lease financing, having represented equity investors and lessees in the financing of a wide variety of equipment and facilities, including aircraft, railcars, ships, and power plants.

Representative Matters

Represented Highbridge Principal Strategies in its investment in notes issued to finance digital projection systems in a transaction that was awarded IDD'S Media Deal of the Year.
Represented Rabobank in connection with the creation of a committed purchase facility for a portfolio of receivables.
Represented The Blackstone Group and other investors in the formation of a joint venture formed for the investment in, and their construction financing of, five Jones Act product tankers.
Represented a consortium of investors, including mezzanine funds managed by The Blackstone Group, in a slate film financing for a major Hollywood Studio.
Represented Babcock & Brown in the development, acquisition and financing of several ethanol facilities.
Represented Babcock & Brown in connection with its purchase and financing of a portfolio of receivables.
Represented ABN Amro Bank N.V. in its investment in a complex joint venture formed with another major financial institution for the purpose of investing in secured repo transactions.
Represented n.v. Nuon in a variety of matters relating to the cross-border leases entered into by Nuon and its affiliates.
Represented an investor in connection with the acquisition of equity interests in two wind farms located in California with a combined nameplate rating in excess of 250MW. Each of the wind farms is subject to a leveraged lease.
