We have represented large and small railroads, a railroad trade association, and other rail industry participants in proceedings before the Surface Transportation Board. We have provided counsel to airline industry participants in proceedings before the Department of Transportation. We have represented a maritime interest before the Federal Maritime Commission. And we have assisted railroads with corporate transactions that involve securing the necessary private financing and regulatory approval. We have also represented airline interests before the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Appeals Tribunal in the United Kingdom and liner shipping interests in their regulatory dealings with the European Commission.
Representative Matters
- We represent Union Pacific Railroad Company in a broad range of economic regulatory matters before the Surface Transportation Board, including rate cases and rulemakings.
- We frequently counsel the Association of American Railroads on a variety of matters and represent the Association in an industry-wide dispute with private tank car owners.
- We have represented other railroads and rail industry participants in proceedings before the Surface Transportation Board.
- We are counsel to Ryanair in ongoing proceedings before the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Appeals Tribunal in the UK regarding Ryanair’s minority stake in Aer Lingus.
- We represent the European Liner Affairs Association, Container Trade Statistics, World Liner Data in the European Commission’s Review of the Conference Block Exemption and the Consortia Block Exemption.
- We counsel World Liner Data members regarding compliance and regulatory matters.
- We have provided counsel to a trucking company and to various drug companies in their efforts to ensure compliance with motor carrier safety regulations.
