Representative Matters
- COMPETE, a coalition of major electricity market participants, including Exelon, Constellation Energy Group, Sempra, Reliant, TXU, Goldman Sachs, National Grid, and Wal-Mart, in proceedings before the Interagency Task Force on Competition initiated under EPAct 2005.
- American Wind Energy Association in the rulemaking proceeding before FERC to reform Order No. 888.
- KKR in the rulemaking proceeding before FERC regarding incentive-based rates for electric transmission under EPAct 2005.
- UBS in electric marketing and trading activities, including its triennial market power review.
- SDG&E or its affiliates in:
- proceedings before FERC and the California Public Utilities Commission concerning the restructuring of the California electric industry.
- obtaining FERC approval to acquire what is now Sempra Commodities, a major marketer of oil, natural gas, and electricity.
- successfully challenging the California ISO’s imposition of certain charges on transmission facilities jointly owned by SDG&E and other utilities.
- successful appeals of a FERC order concerning recovery of charges for transmission losses and ancillary services.
- obtaining FERC approval to make sales at market-based rates.
- instituting and-most recently-settling a number of proceedings regarding FERC’s wide-ranging investigation into prices and potential refunds for sales in California in 2000-2001.
