Representative Matters
- We have assisted animal health companies successfully respond to FDA enforcement actions, including Warning Letters and Form 483 observations.
- We have advised animal feed companies and trade associations regarding the new Food Safety Modernization Act, reportable food issues and the new FDA guidance on Salmonella in animal feed.
- We have handled internal investigations for various clients and the related negotiations with agencies regarding the findings and underlying issues.
- Our lawyers have advised animal drug manufacturers on FDA’s authority to regulate inactive ingredients in animal drugs in light of the Delaney “anticancer” Clause in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
- We assisted a client design, plan, and establish a significant new animal health business.
- We have defended and successfully settled administrative compliance actions and investigations brought by the USDA under the Animal Welfare Act and assisted clients in conducting internal investigations related to such actions.
- We have handled many FDA and USDA import detentions, import refusals, re-exportations and destructions of refused imports, ans successful petitions for removal from FDA Import Alerts.
- We assisted various companies with the import, compliance, and recall issues associated with the 2007 melamine contamination of pet food and its aftermath.
- We successfully represented a coalition of companies in opposing release by a federal agency of sensitive information reflected in documents required to be filed with that agency.
