Edward Britton is a corporate partner resident in the firm’s Washington office.  He concentrates in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; strategic licensing, partnering, and joint ventures; and corporate finance and venture capital.  His practice emphasizes multi-jurisdictional transactions, and he has broad experience in the types of issues that such transactions raise.  He also regularly advises clients on corporate, securities and commercial issues and assists clients on general compliance matters.

The clients with which Mr. Britton works are in a wide range of industries, with particular concentration in life sciences, consumer products, and government services.

Representative Matters

  • $160 million PIPE investment by a major pharmaceutical company as part of a larger strategic collaboration transaction.
  • $70 million sale of a privately held government contractor involved in providing services to the US defense and intelligence communities to a major publicly held defense contractor.
  • Sale by a privately held UK-based sporting goods manufacturer of a major brand to a publicly held US speciality sporting goods manufacturer.
  • Development of a comprehensive compliance education programme for in-house legal and compliance staff of a major life sciences company.
