Assignments & Mentoring
Each of our summer associates is assigned both an associate mentor and partner advisor, who monitor work assignments and provide insights into life at Covington’s San Diego office. We pride ourselves on providing summer associates with constructive feedback on their work over the course of the summer, both through informal evaluations and discussion of projects with individual lawyers on a day-to-day basis and by a more formal review and end-of-summer exit interview process. We believe that the smaller scale of the San Diego program helps ensure that each summer associate gets a real chance to work closely with multiple partners and associates and to receive the kind of individual attention that is often key to a successful summer associate experience.
