More than 650 lawyers practice in Covington’s London, Washington, New York, San Francisco, Brussels, and Beijing offices. We are involved in an extraordinary range of practice areas.
Our London office is dynamic and growing and now has a substantial team of lawyers and trainees. The majority of our lawyers in London are English-qualified solicitors. In addition, each of our practice groups in London includes US-qualified lawyers, most of whom have relocated to London on a long-term basis from our various US offices. We have four principal practice areas in London:
Corporate, which includes mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, private equity funds, venture capital and private equity, tax and employment;
Dispute Resolution, including insurance coverage disputes (for policyholders only), arbitration, product liability litigation, commercial litigation in the English courts, international corporate investigations, and compliance matters;
Life Sciences, including regulatory advice and other advisory services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, veterinary and agricultural companies; commercial and transactional work for these clients; and litigation relating to the life sciences industry; and
IT/IP, which includes international regulatory issues, creation and enforcement of IP rights, commercial and corporate matters, internet policy, anti-piracy and e-commerce, and data protection.
Most of our work includes an international component.

We were named “Best Recruiter, US Firm in the City” at the fifth annual LawCareers.Net Training & Recruitment Awards 2008. Covington’s London office also won the award for “Best Medium City Trainer” in 2005, and was shortlisted as “Best Recruiter, Medium City Firm” and “Best Trainer, Medium City Firm” in 2006 and 2007.
