Brooke Wright is an associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office, where she is a member of the firm’s International and White Collar Defense and Investigations practice groups.  She advises clients in compliance matters related to the export controls and sanctions administered by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC).  Ms. Wright has also assisted companies in conducting internal investigations in connection with potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and various regulatory requirements.

Representative Matters

  • Assist insurance company in conducting internal investigations into foreign trade control violations, filing voluntary self-disclosures, and implementing corrective compliance measures.
  • Advise leading pharmaceutical and energy companies with respect to the filing of license applications with OFAC and BIS.
  • Advise global energy company on current status and likely trajectory of US sanctions and export controls.
  • Advise companies in creating and implementing foreign trade controls compliance programs.
  • Conduct internal investigation in connection with potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
  • Advise foreign government investment authority on legal and regulatory reforms.

Pro Bono

  • Represent a group of DC homeowners in a suit against builder, developer, and seller of deficient homes.
