Marialuisa ("ML") Gallozzi has had 20 years of experience representing policyholders. She advises them in purchasing and renewing insurance, in settling insurance disputes, and in novations and other transactions involving insurance assets. She has negotiated more than 100 insurance settlements involving coverage for asbestos, medical device, environmental and other liabilities and also has extensive experience presenting and settling first-party claims including those involving September 11, flood, collapse, hurricane losses, and crime/employee dishonesty. Ms. Gallozzi has particular expertise in dealing with runoff, troubled and insolvent insurers. She has represented major corporate policyholders in contentious insolvency proceedings and on creditors committees in the US, UK and Bermuda and in ancillary bankruptcy proceedings in the United States. She also has experience in food and drug law and has represented a medical device manufacturer in dealings with the FDA concerning a major product recall.
Ms. Gallozzi has been listed in peer-recommended directories such as Chambers USA’s “America’s Leading Business Lawyers,” Who’s Who Legal “Insurance and Reinsurance, and Legal Media Group’s “Guide to the World’s Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers.”
Ms. Gallozzi has lectured extensively on insurance topics in CLE programs and law schools, including serving as an adjunct professor at American University, Washington College of Law and as a guest lecturer at the University of Virginia School of Law and the University of Connecticut School of Law.
Ms. Gallozzi is a managing partner for Legal Personnel at the firm, with responsibility for associate issues. She served as an Associate Ombudsperson and co-chaired the summer associate program from 2004 to 2006.

- Advised Sotheby's on placement of its E&O coverage.
- Represented a major American food supplier in complex novation transaction involving workers compensation policies.
- Advised biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and clinical trials organization on coverage under its clinical trials policies.
- Represented a multinational corporation seeking coverage for an employee dishonesty claim involving a foreign subsidiary.
- Represented a medical device manufacturer in dealings with FDA concerning a product recall and subsequent investigation.
- Represented a financial services company in recovering for its property and business interruption losses caused by the September 11 terrorist attacks.
- Negotiated numerous settlements with domestic and foreign insurance carriers securing coverage for silicone breast implant, IUD, heart-valve, asbestos, and environmental claims.
