Alissa Jijon is an associate in the firm’s Food & Drug practice group in the Washington, DC office. She has experience advising manufacturers of drugs, devices, food, and other products on a range of regulatory and consumer protection issues involving the Food and Drug Administration and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Representative Matters
- Assists pharmaceutical companies in evaluating compliance with FDA regulations governing prescription drug marketing and advertising practices.
- Advised companies on FDA and state regulations pertaining to classification and marketing of medical devices.
- Advised manufacturers of children’s products and consumer goods on applicable regulations enforced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, as well as state laws relating to lead content in consumer products.
Pro Bono
- Assists with representation of Mississippi inmate in an effort to overturn capital conviction arising from shooting death of a police officer during a late night SWAT team raid on client’s home.
- For non-profit organizations, analyzed eligibility criteria for grants to benefit underserved populations under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
